With Gossip Girl Season 3 not premiering until September 14, it’s a long scandal-free summer without Gossip Girl. To help ease the pain, we’ve come up with several ways to help you survive the summer without your favorite motherchuckers.
- Read the books. We all know the show is based on the book series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The 13 books in the Gossip Girl series (plus two spinoffs) can fill your GG void while lying on the beach.
- Take the Tour. The company behind the Sex and the City Tour launched a NYC Tour of Gossip Girl Sites in May. Hanging out on the Met steps and shopping at Bendel’s will make you feel like S & B are right there with you.
- Watch NYC Prep. Touted as the “real life Gossip Girl,” the show follows the lives of several privileged teens on the Upper East Side (sound familiar?) P.C. will suffice on lonely summer nights until Chuck Bass returns in the fall.
- Check Out Taylor Momsen’s Band. Little J and her band (The Pretty Reckless) are touring this summer with The Veronicas. See when they visit a town near you.
- Pick up the Season 2 DVD. Out on August 18. Let the GG marathon commence.
- Host a White Party. Who needs the Hamptons? Call your friends, throw on your fabulous whites, and serve up some “Rich Bitch” cocktails and grilled cheese sandwiches with truffle oil.
- Watch Leighton Meester on Entourage. The Season 5 DVD, just released this week, features Leighton’s return as aspiring singer, Justine Chapin.
- Get Your Queen B On. BellaSugar has a great How-To on making your own Blair-inspired headbands.
- Rent Cruel Intentions. The original Manhattan Elite, with manipulation and seduction that puts Gossip Girl to shame. Plus the girl-on-girl kiss doesn’t hurt.
- Root for Gossip Girl at the Teen Choice Awards. The show and the cast have a total of 10 nominations. The show is Monday, August 10th. You can Vote here everyday.
