Filming Locations from Elf | New York TV and Movie Tours | NYC Bus Tours, Sightseeing in Manhattan, NYBuddy (Will Farrell) had a unique childhood.  After he stowed away in Santa’s sack as a child, he was brought to the North Pole and raised by elves.  Now, as an adult human living in an elf’s world, he cannot ignore the differences between himself and the others.  Finally, Papa Elf (played by Bob Newhart) tells him about his biological father, Walter Hobbs (James Caan), who lives in a place called New York City.  Buddy is shocked to learn that his father, who is not even aware of his existence, is on Santa’s “naughty” list.

An excited Buddy makes the journey to Manhattan and finds his father’s office at the Empire State Building, but is greeted with a not-so-excited reception.  A clash of human and elf culture ensues as buddy discovers all the delightful parts of New York City with all the wacky joy that only an elf can.

Elf was nominated for a Kids Choice Award, Teen Choice Award, MTV Movie Award, and many others.

When you take the New York TV and Movie Sites Tour, be prepared to be wowed just as Buddy was in the movie Elf.  See the Empire State Building, where Buddy’s real father works in the film.  This is where Buddy first goes to find Walter and is mistaken for a strange singing telegram.  This building is an icon of New York that is recognized by people all over the world.  It is a site that cannot be missed on your trip to the city.  Be sure to take a trip to the Empire State Building Observation Deck where you’ll get a spectacular view of New York City.

Who can forget Buddy’s reaction to Macy’s Santaland? His excitement when he hears that Santa is coming shows his childlike innocence as he screams “I know him!”  This is also where he meets Jovie (played by Zooey Deschanel).  See the world famous Macy’s on 34th street.  This store is absolutely huge, spanning an entire city block with many floors and departments.Filming Locations from Elf | New York TV and Movie Tours | NYC Bus Tours, Sightseeing in Manhattan, NY

You will also get a chance to see the famous Rockefeller Center, where the well-known tree lighting happens each year.  This is where his new friend Jovie takes Buddy to see the biggest Christmas tree he has ever seen.  Rockefeller Center features numerous places to shop, eat, and explore.  Visit Top of the Rock, or go ice skating on the famous rink right in the middle of it all.  Shop at stores like anthropologie, Banana Republic, Cole Haan, French Connection, Movado, Nine West, and many more.  Rockefeller Center has been featured in numerous other movies such as Serendipity, and Home Alone 2, and is the home to NBC Studios.  30 Rockefeller Plaza houses Saturday Night Live and its fictional counterpart, TGS, from 30 Rock.

Finally, get a glance at Central Park. This famous park in Midtown Manhattan covers 843 acres, which is 6% of Manhattan. It is the first landscaped public park in the United States and an important part of New York City life.  This is the place where the final scenes of Elf take place.  Santa and his reindeer are sighted and being persued.  As they try to escape from Central Park, Santa’s sleigh loses power and they need the help of everyone’s Christmas spirit to get it going again.  Our Central Park Tour of TV & Movie Sites will show you all of the great films and TV shows that have been set in this famous park.

All of these great New York City sites, and many others, will be seen on our fun guided tours.
