What You’ll See On Tour
For NYC sightseeing with a side of gossip, hop on the Gossip Girl Sites Tour to explore great locations from one of America’s most popular dramas, Gossip Girl, based on the book series written by Cecily Von Ziegesar. Check out the spots where hot young actors like Blake Lively (Serena Van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass) and Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald) take on the roles of young socialites in New York City. Venture into Gossip Girl’s elite society of sex, drugs, jealousy, and peer pressure.
Elite Upper East Side
The New York Tour of Gossip Girl Sites begins by exploring the Upper East Side, a very exclusive Manhattan neighborhood. “Hello, Upper East Siders!” is Gossip Girl’s opening line to every episode, and on this Gossip Girl tour, you’ll feel like she’s talking directly to you! Experience a day in the life of one of Manhattan’s elite on our very special New York sightseeing tour. In addition to visiting the sites from the show, you’ll also have exclusive access to special discounts throughout the city.
You’ll begin the tour in the courtyard of the luxurious New York Palace Hotel, owned by Bass Industries on the show, where Chuck Bass and his “adopted” family, the Van der Woodsens, would wake up every morning to a fully catered breakfast from the Palace’s unparalleled service professionals. The Palace wasn’t just the home of two of Gossip Girl’s elite families, but also the location of many a Gossip Girl intrigue. Gilt, the fine dining restaurant on the ground floor of The Palace, where the Bass brunch took place, was the site of the first “reunion” of Serena and Blair after Serena’s mysterious disappearance and also where the lascivious Chuck tried to win Serena’s affection with a special-ordered grilled cheese sandwich with truffle oil.
On the way up Madison Avenue towards the Constance Billard School for Girls and the St. Jude School for Boys, you’ll pass St. James’ Church, the site of Prince Louis and Blair’s wedding. Both schools are located on the Upper East Side, though on the show they are located at a fictional address in the middle of the East River! On the tour, you'll recognize The Synod of Bishops Russian Church and the Museum of the City of New York as the exteriors of your favorite private schools.
The New York tour of Gossip Girl then continues down Fifth Avenue towards Blair Waldorf’s apartment building. Located in the Carnegie Hill section of the Upper East Side, this handsome “pre-war” apartment house built in 1925 with private elevator landings in each apartment is considered one of Carnegie Hill’s finest. Apartments are listed here from $4 million to $7 million.
Several blocks away is the real inspiration behind The Constance Billard School for Girls, The Nightingale-Bamford School. An elite Upper East Side school for girls, Nightingale is where Cecily von Ziegesar, the author of the Gossip Girl books, attended until her high school graduation.
One more block away is the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, located in the former Andrew Carnegie Mansion, the site of the Bass/Van der Woodsen wedding in the dramatic Season 1 finale. Further down "Museum Mile" you’ll stop for a photo-op at the famous Metropolitan Museum of Art, on the steps of which many a “Queen B” lunch crew sat. In real life, these steps are often frequented by the girls from the Marymount School, another elite Upper East Side school for girls.
Bustling Midtown Manhattan

After exploring Fifth Avenue, the Gossip Girl Sites Tour will take you past Hunter College on Park Avenue where the crew took the SATs and Dan found out Serena has somebody else take her test for her. Next, you’ll be treated to an exclusive discount at Dylan’s Candy Bar, which features over 5,000 different types of sweets and gifts. Dylan’s is where Dan helped Vanessa pick out candy for her anniversary with Nate.
After you satisfy your sweet tooth, you’ll hop back on the bus and ride past a variety of locations including The Pierre Hotel where Serena and Blair took dance lessons, The Sherry Netherland Hotel where Georgina stayed when she came back into town, Grand Army Plaza where Serena and Colin shared a cab home from Columbia and The Oak Room where Blair tells Chuck she has to break up with the Prince.
A New York sightseeing tour wouldn’t be complete without a view of Central Park, so the Gossip Girl Tour continues west in Midtown past Central Park South. Central Park provides scenery for many Gossip Girl moments including where Blair went skating with her dad, Dorota and Blair met Nate and Serena & Dan were accosted by 3 young girls.
Your New York tour guide will then lead the bus past Lincoln Center where the Gossip Girl gang attended the opening of the New York City Ballet’s Winter Season. The next hop off the bus is The Empire Hotel, the site of Chuck’s latest home and business venture and many dramatic show moments.
Dress the part of your favorite Gossip Girl at Henri Bendel where Serena and Blair frequent. Tour-goers will receive a special discount during the shopping expedition at this upscale accessories boutique (headbands, anyone?). Take in the glitz and glamour of other nearby stores including Bergdorf Goodman where Raina met Nate in Season 4, Harry Winston where Chuck bought Blair’s engagement ring in Season 3, Cartier where Serena catches Blair spying on Chuck purchasing a watch for Eva and Saks Fifth Avenue where Lily takes Jenny shopping for shoes.
Artsy Greenwich Village
Continue down Fifth Avenue past the Empire State Building and through Greenwich Village, which is home to New York University. The Freshman-only NYU dorm, Rubin Hall, inspired Ehrlich Residence Hall where Dan, Vanessa, Blair and Georgina resided on Gossip Girl. Half of the show’s characters attended NYU, which really doesn’t have an official campus. The “campus” is mostly buildings scattered around Greenwich Village near Washington Square Park.
University Place near Washington Square East is often used in establishing shots for The Bleeker, the fictitious café where the characters hang out in Season 3. The exterior of the NYU Book Store is also seen in Gossip Girl when Dan and Vanessa encounter Georgina.
Trendy Meatpacking District
The Meatpacking District which runs roughly from West 14th Street south to Gansevoort Street is known for its ritzy shopping and trendy nightlife scene. On tour, you’ll catch glimpses of various Gossip Girl locations such as Bill’s Burger Bar where Dan & Serena had their proper second date, Rubin Chappelle that stands as Eleanor Waldorf’s boutique and Diane Von Furstenburg , the scene of Fashion’s Night Out party. At the end of the Gossip Girl Sites Tour, you will be dropped off near The Standard Hotel, which features The Boom Boom Room where Colin brought Serena as his date and was being honored as Most Eligible Bachelor.
