Filming Locations from Wedding Crashers | Washington DC TV and Movie Sites Tour | DC Sightseeing | DC Tour busDuring the On Location Tours' Washington D.C. TV and Movie Sites Tour, you will have the chance to visit locations from many of your favorite films, including the hilarious 2005 hit, Wedding Crashers.  The comedy is about two lifelong friends and womanizers, John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vince Vaughn), who share a very unique hobby: crashing weddings.  Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson won the MTV movie award for “Best On-Screen Team” in Wedding Crashers.  Wilson was also nominated for best comedic performance.

The two Washington D.C. divorce mediators spend their weekends crashing weddings to hook up with women.  Their crazy wedding adventures are always complete with an elaborate story explaining their presence, and the duo becomes a hit at every event.  Filming Locations from Wedding Crashers | Washington DC TV and Movie Sites Tour | DC Sightseeing | DC Tour busAfter learning that the daughter of Treasury Secretary William Cleary (Christopher Walken) and his wife, Kathleen (Jane Seymour), is getting married in the Washington D.C. social event of the year, Jeremy and John decide they must get in, and eventually end up pursuing Cleary’s two unwed daughters, Claire (Rachel McAdams) and Gloria (Isla Fisher).  Hilarity ensues as they get sucked into the family’s post-wedding activities.  However, after a nightmare weekend, both unexpectedly find true love.

The Capitol

One of the most memorable sights you will see on the D.C. film tour is The United States Capitol.  This beautiful building is seen in the middle of the movie in a shot along with the memorial bridge after the two bachelors are caught in their elaborate lie and return to the city.  The Capitol building is one of the most impressive and important buildings in the world.  The United States Capitol has housed the meeting chambers of the Senate and the House of Representatives for nearly two centuries.  It has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored.  Now, the Capitol is a monument to the American people and their government.

Lincoln Memorial

One memorable scene in Wedding Crashers is when the pair sits on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial discuss whether they are too old to be behaving so irresponsibly.  Don’t miss your chance to visit the spot where this scene took place.  The Lincoln Memorial was designed by Henry Bacon and stands at the west end of the National Mall as monument to the 16th President of the United States.  The statue of Abraham Lincoln took four years to carve, and the memorial itself stands at nearly 100 feet tall, 190 feet long, and 119 feet wide.  This is also the spot where Martin Luther King delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.  The memorial is a major part of American history that is not to be missed.  It has also been featured in other movies including Forrest Gump, Independence Day, Deep Impact, Armageddon, and many others.

Memorial Bridge

See the Memorial Bridge, which was featured briefly when John and Jeremy returned to the city after being caught, as well as in the memorable ending seen as they drive off Claire and Gloria across the bridge.  The 2,163 foot long bridge was designed by the McKim, Mead and White architectural firm is regarded as the most beautiful in Washington.

Georgetown

Take a walk through this tony neighborhood as you disembark the On Location Tours bus and visit sites that have been used in filming the many movies that have been shot in this area.  See the house that John lived in when Jeremy came to apologize in Wedding Crashers.
